why was it historic?

    >      Say what you want but this is where the legend of Michael Jackson The “King of Pop” began. It was with his 4 brothers  (he actually has 5 brothers) lead by their father the Jackson 5 was created. Very few Artists reach the heights of MJ’s Status, Broad appeal and overall talent. Singer, Dancer, Actor, Entertainer & Most of all Humanitarian, these titles were earned throughout the span of his illustrious career. But they all began here in this 672 square foot tiny home, 2 bedrooms & 1 Bathroom. Just imagine a family of 11 once lived there, incredible. This home provided all of the early inspiration a & motivation for Joe (Father) to stay on his kids about their music.

    >      Purchased in 1950 the Jackson’s lived there until 1969 when they left Gary for California. Whether this is considered a Historical Monument is based on your personal beliefs, in this case to me it is. I’m a huge MJ fan always have and always will be, my kids even love him to the degree that i loved him. It’s a great sense of pride for the family to know where they came from, and how far they came from sleeping in triple Decker bunk beds, two people on each bed. It’s unclear as to who actually owns the home today, but whoever owns it keeps it in very good condition. Not much has changed since the Jackson’s left, although a plaque was added to the front right hand side of the property after MJ died.

>      Man talk about motivation for wanting more 11 people in a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home with 4 females, ouch. But they made it work, say what you want about Joe Jackson but he found a way for his family. He kept them together throughout their tough times growing up in Gary, Indiana and made sure that when they performed they did it right. Michael Jackson went from 672 square to owning Neverland Ranch that’s how you upgrade RIP “King of Pop” man do we miss you.
